Eddie Brown,Funeral Director/ Owner
Eddie is the founder and owner of Brown's Funeral Service. Having discovered at age 12 of having an interest in funeral service it was a lifelong dream to become not only a Funeral Director and Embalmer he wanted to own and operate his own Funeral Service. Eddie was the fifth child of seven (first son) born to A.E."Aus" and Annie (Goff) Brown, lifelong Marshall County (Madill-Kingston area) pioneers. Eddie graduated from Madill High School with the class of '67. Eddie served his first Funeral Director/Embalmers apprentiship in 1976 and worked everyday toward being licensed. After a 20+ year career in grocery and real estate business he made the opportunity happen to go back to college and then to Dallas Institute of Funeral Service where he was class president and recieved Scholastic Acheivement Award. Brown's has grown to 5 locations since aquiring Durant Funeral Home in 1994. Eddie is a 33 year member of the Lions Club, a member of Atoka Masonic Lodge #4, Oklahoma Funeral Directors Association and The National Funeral Directors Assn. and all the area Chambers of Commerce where we have locations. Eddie served as City Councilman, Police and Fire Commissioner and as Mayor in Tishomingo. Eddie is a licensed Life Insurance agent and a pre-need councilor.

Marvin Estes, Funeral Director/ Embalmer

Arvel Hall, Funeral Assistant
Arvel has been with Brown's Funeral Service since 1995. Arvel had a long career with the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier in Atoka. Arvel is a cattle rancher and a deacon and the music director at the Blackjack Baptist Church. He officiates many of our services along with his duties as a funeral assistant. Arvel served his country in the U.S. Army and spent 2 years in Germany. His compassion for people and willingness to help people "at their greatest time of need" is shown in his every action.

Chad Axsom
Chad has been employed with Brown's Funeral Service since Feb. 2002. He has a variety of duties including being a funeral assistant. He is responsible for buildings and grounds, cemetery set-up and automobiles. He was reared in Indiana and the youngest of 5 children. Chad is grooming himself to take charge sometime in the future and carry on"the Family Tradition and Caring Service" that he has learned through the years from his father in-law. Chad is married to Laura Brown Axsom and has 2 children Cheyenne and Grayson. Chad is looking forward to furthering his education and becoming a licensed funeral director and embalmer.

Hal Ishmael, Funeral Assistant
Hal has been with Brown's Funeral Service since 1996. He retired from Southwestern Bell with over 32 years of service. Hal officiates and leads music for many of our services along with his duties as a Funeral Assistant. He also does much of our overland transportation. Hal is a member and Elder of the South Atoka Church of Christ. Hal is an avid outdoorsman, loves to hunt and fish and watch OU football and basketball. Hal always show's compassion and care to the families we serve at the time of the loss of a loved one.

Carolyn Roberts, Receptionist, Visitation Hostess
Carolyn has been with Brown's Funeral Service since March of 2004 as receptionist and night and weekend visitation hostess. She has been a lifelong Atoka county area resident, being born at Crystal to Jesse R. and Dorothy F. (Newsom) Pattton. Carolyn attended Harmony and Atoka schools.She is the mother of 4 (Shawn, Shana, Staci and Crystal) , the grandmother of 12 ( Dee, Shayla, Kathleen, Kacey, Kaleb, Shane, Jessica, Falicity, Trey, Jase, Indiana and Arrica) and great grandmother of 1.(Austin).and loves being a mother , grandmother and great grandmother. She also likes to cook, read and do interesting home projects. She is a member of God's House. Carolyn is very compassionate and caring to the families of those in our care and to their needs..

Juqhatia "Quita" Combs Logue, office mgr/pre-need councilor
Quita came on board with Brown's Funeral Service in August 2007. She has vast experience in secretarial/office management. Quita worked several years for Missouri Farm Bureau and for Farmers Insurance Group/Mansell Agency in Atoka. She worked several years at the Atoka Truck Stop and has been a people person her entire life. She is a lifelong Atoka County resident and graduated from Tushka High School and attended Southeastern State University. Quita has been a big asset to the firm in the short time she has been with us and is active in selling monuments and pre-need funerals along with the other duties. She is always available to our families in need and looks forward to a long and rewarding career in funeral service.

Ryan Olmstead, Funeral Director and Embalmer
Ryan Olmstead is a 5th generation Funeral Director born in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1975. Ryan attended the Universtiy of Arkansas, majoring in Finance before attending mortuary school in Dallas. While attending the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service, Ryan met Shanda Brown from Madill. After graduating together they later married and had a daughter Abby. After working as funeral directors in Arkansas, Ryan and Shanda moved to Oklahoma to join the staff of Brown's Funeral Service. Ryan and wife Shanda are both licensed funeral directors and embalmers in both Oklahoma and Arkansas. Ryan and Shanda are available to help families during their time of need at any of our locations.
