IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Aaron Joseph
Mayfield
June 4, 1984 – April 6, 2016
IN CELEBRATION OF THE LIFE OF AARON JOSEPH MAYFIELD
Aaron Joseph Mayfield entered into this world on June, 4, 1984, and he entered into his eternal life on or about April 4, 2016, at almost 32 years of age. Although his time with us was short, Aaron will be remembered vibrantly by those who were around him.
Aaron was born in Denison, Texas, to Richard Elden Mayfield and Christina Jean Mayfield, the former Christina Jean White, now Timmerman; and, with the exception of a couple of years away at college, Aaron lived his entire life in Atoka, Oklahoma.
While he never married, and had no children, Aaron had a particularly good rapport with his nieces and nephews, and they very much enjoyed the time which they were able to spend together.
Aaron attended The Faith Christian School in Atoka, and later attended the Atoka public schools. He was a member of the Chess Club, and performed in the band, playing the clarinet, saxophone and trumpet. He led his class to multiple state and national Academic Bowl, and Mock Trial Team, championships. Aaron graduated from Atoka high school with the class of 2002, where his academic achievements earned him a scholarship to East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. He attended Victory Life Church, In Atoka.
Aaron was a computer specialist. He was particularly skilled in chess, Magic ("The Gathering") and other strategy games, and enjoyed competing with his friends. He became an internationally ranked competitive computer strategy game player. He held several world video gaming records, playing under the moniker "Draknar Everhate". He had a large "twitch.tv" - game-enthusiasts - following. Aaron was an unquestioned genius – a superior intellect; a beautiful mind who is no longer trapped within an earthen vessel.
Aaron was preceded in death by both sets of his grandparents – Bill and Betty White, and, Joseph and Loretta Mayfield; and also by a half-sister, Chanda Corr, a half-brother, Cory Franklyn Rose, and a number of cousins and other relatives.
Aaron is survived by his Mother, Christina Jean Timmerman, and step-father, Albert Timmerman, of Blue Eye, Missouri; his father, Richard Elden Mayfield, of the home in Atoka, Oklahoma; his Older brother, Ashley Elden Mayfield, of Owasso, Oklahoma; his sister, Adrianne Elizabeth Mayfield Cross, and her husband, Chris Cross, of Atoka County, Oklahoma; and, His sister, Alyssa Catherine Mayfield, of blue-eye Missouri.
He is also survived by Five nieces and Two nephews: Haven Mayfield, Gracie Mayfield, Alexia Cross, Joshua Cross, Alora Logan, Zoey Hill, and Shawn Hill; and, by Nine Aunts and Uncles: Jill and Ron Smith, of Lamar, Colorado; JoAnn and Tony DePasquale, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Susan and Steve Geier, of San Diego, California, Cheryl Kaye Mayfield, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Terri and David Roberts, of Lansing, Michigan; as well as by a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
"Family night" will be observed on Friday, April 15, 2016, from 6:00 o'clock p.m. to 8:00 o'clock p.m., at the Brown's Funeral Home, in Atoka, Oklahoma. Also a Celebratory - Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Victory Life Church, in Atoka, Oklahoma, conducted by Victory Life Church, Senior Pastor Lee Armstrong, assisted by Victory Life Church of Atoka, Youth Pastor Aaron Everett.
The honorary pallbearers are: Albert Timmerman, Chris Cross, Eddie Leyba, Ryan Anthony Grimsley and Katlyn Dodds, Randy and Doris Grimsley, Steve and Sally Swindall, Roger and Kay Holey, and Tommy and Caleen Evans.
