H. Abbott Jones of Atoka, OK, passed away in his home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, July 5th, 2018, at the age of 71. He was born on August 22, 1946, in Atoka to Sue Sartin Jones and Harmon T. Jones.
After graduating Atoka High School in 1964 he married Kathie Matthews of Atoka on August 28, 1965. They had 53 wonderful years together. He was the co-owner of Harmon Jones Ford from 1969 to 2000 and after his retirement from the car business, he worked in real estate with his mother, Sue Jones, until her death, and later with Kevin Haney.  Abbott was a member of the First Baptist Church of Atoka. He was a charter member of the Elks Lodge, and a member of Atoka Rod and Gun  Club.
Survivors include his wife, Kathie Matthews Jones, of Atoka; children, Susan Brigman of Baton Rouge, LA, and Shelley and Val Joe Gladden of Stillwater, OK; grandchildren, Wes Gladden, Katie Brigman, and Ella Brigman; sister, Lynda Jones Rippee; and sister-in-law Margie Matthews Sheffield along with many extended family members and good friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harmon and Sue Jones, and brother-in-law, Dr. Don Rippee.
