Aletha Janet (Swilling) Baudendistel, 58, of Oakland passed away Thursday, October 30, 2008 following a short illness. Janet was born on February 1, 1950 to Carl Bernard and Sammie Jane (Tyner) Swilling at the Old Madill Hospital. Janet was a certificated nurse's aid before retiring in 2004. She had many hobbies reading, sewing, painting ceramic pottery and going to garage sales. Janet is survived by her mother, Sammie Swilling of Cumberland, two sons, Dewayne Mims and wife Samantha of Oakland, Michael Young and wife Amy of Cumberland, daughter Christie Mims of Kingston, two brothers, Carl E. Swilling and Randy L. Swilling both of Cumberland, three grandchildren, Raven N. and Leon W. Young of Cumberland and Nathaniel D. Mims of Oakland along with three nieces and five nephews, several extended families and many dear and loved friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl B. Swilling, 2008, brother, Tommy H. Swilling, 1999, son-in-law, Dustin D. Brackett 2007, paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents. Friends are invited to join the family for a graveside celebration of Janet's life at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 6, 2008 at the Woodberry Forest Cemetery in Madill. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made at Landmark Bank in Janet's name to off set funeral expenses.
