NAME: Allen Frank McKendrick, age 83, a longtime Caney, OK resident since 1989, formerly of Coalgate and before that Hugo.

BORN: He was born on Tuesday, October 17, 1933, to Allen and Iva Irene (Lane) McKendrick, at Olney, OK.

PASSED AWAY: Allen passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Caney, OK.

AGE: 83 years, 5 months and 2 days.

EDUCATION: He attended Clayton Schools and was Valedictorian of his graduating class. Allen attended the University of California and post grad work at Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching. He also received an Automotive Engineering Degree.

OCCUPATION: Allen was a teacher for 11 years and was owner operator at McKendrick's Trucking and McKendrick's Dozer Service.

MILITARY: Allen proudly served his country in The U.S. Army during the Korean war.

MARRIED: He married Shirley Marie (Campbell) on Thursday, October 8th, 1970 at Atoka, OK. They had 46 wonderful years together.

CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: Allen was of the christian faith. He was a life member of the DAV and VFW, loved farming, gardening, his equipment, junking, trading, and being with his grandchildren.
