Alpha Mae Mead, age 88, a lifelong Lane, OK resident. She was born on Saturday, May 13, 1933, to Thomas and Opal Bell (Lane) Peeler, at Lane, OK. Alpha passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Lane, OK. She attended Iron Stob School. Alpha was a rancher, housewife, and owned trucks. She married William Mead on Saturday, June 18th, 1955 at Reno, NV. They spent 57 wonderful years together before his passing in 2012.Alpha was of the baptist faith. She loved working her cattle, fishing, and most of all her grandchildren.Alpha is survived by her children, Barbara Amiott and husband Wesley of Atoka, OK, Larry Allen and wife Debbie of Atoka, OK, Patricia Shelton and husband Malcolm of Bentley, OK, Billy Mead and wife Debbie of Lane, OK, Michelle Buchanan and husband Frankie of Stringtown, OK; grandchildren Lesley Amiott, Brian Amiott, Jeremy Allen, Jarod Allen, Scarlett Allen, Melissa Sanders, Crystal Ryan, Ricky Ryan, Amanda Meek, Colten Mead, Josh, Sasha, Shelly, Stetson Caves, Lauren Caves, Ethan McIninch; 46 great grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; sisters Leona Reece and husband Jerry of Tushka, OK, Wanda Gregory and husband Dean of Lane, OK, Jo Ann Callicoat of Bentley, OK, Joyce McDaniel and husband Phil of Lane, OK; brother Henry Peeler and wife Marlene of Bentley, OK; sister in law Ruby Beattie of Watsonville, CA, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Mead; parents Thomas and Opal Bell (Lane) Peeler; sister Iva Dean Burden; grandchild Daniel McIninch.
