Alvia "Caleen: Evans, age 79, a Caddo, OK resident, was raised in Atoka County, moved to Oklahoma City for 7 years and then back to Atoka County. She was born on Saturday, June 23, 1945, to Henry Cleveland and Veda Lee (Cleveland) Nuttall, at Caney, OK. Caleen passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Calera, OK. She attended Caney Grade School and Tushka High School. Caleen was coowner and operator of the Sears Store in Atoka, worked at Wyrick's, Indian Nation's Wholesale and was bookkeeper and active in the family business T & C Plumbing Co. She married Thomas Monroe Evans on Saturday, May 27th, 1961 at Tushka, OK. They celebrated 63 years of marriage before her passing.
Caleen was a member of Tushka Baptist Church, attended Harmony Baptist Church, Day Spring Church and Victory Life. She was active in the CASA programs, was a deaconess at Day Spring Church, was in a ladies quilting club. She loved attending all the kids and grandkids sports activities.
Caleen is survived by her husband, Thomas Monroe Evans of the home in Caddo, OK; son, Steve Evans and wife Cheryl of Caney, OK; daughter in law, Edelyn Evans of Marysville, WA; grandchildren, Thomas Evans and wife Morgan of Coleman, OK, Hunter Evans of Voca, OK; sisters, Geraldine Day of Plano, TX, Wanda Satterfield of Voca, OK; great grandchildren, Addison Evans, Daxton Evans; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Caleen was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Cleveland Nuttall and Veda Lee (Cleveland) Nuttall Dailey; son, Monroe Scott Evans; sister, Louise Bussey; brothers, Donnie Nuttall, William "Junior" Nuttall.
