Anna Maria Thomas-Hopson, age 57, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was born on Tuesday, October 13, 1964, to Frank Thomas and Elisabeth Frazier, at Coalgate, OK. Anna passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Oklahoma City, OK. She graduated from Atoka High School and went on to receive her Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Teaching from Murray State College in Tishomingo, OK. She went on to have a 25 year long career teaching at Atoka Headstart and INCA and driving the bus. She later held several different management positions in the food and hospitality industries. She attended Bethel AME and Old Path Baptist Church. Anna was a fiercely dedicated and caring mom, daughter, grandmother, sister and friend to all her loved ones. She had an infectious smile that went perfect with her great sense of humor. Her outgoing personality and her loving spirit made her an absolute joy to be around. In her free time Anna enjoyed going to the casino, reading her Bible, talking on the phone, decorating her home and staying home and playing Bingo with her mom. She also enjoyed traveling and going on trips with her girls, Charlotte, Tyra, and Carolyn.
Anna is survived by her children, Erik Hopson of Atoka, OK, Thaao Hopson and wife Taime of Atoka, OK, Rose Hopson and friend Clarence Minor of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Talina Taniyah, Tayana, Iyanna, Acelyn, Erik Jr., Sequoa, Vanity, Judah, Isarel, Ja'dymond, Jalygheil; mother, Elisabeth Frazier of Atoka, OK; step mother, Virginia Thomas of Spencer, OK; siblings, Danny Hopson and wife Melissa of Atoka, OK, Barbara Polk of Sherman, TX, Arthur Jamelle Hopson and wife Shawna of Mesquite, TX, Kunta Nelson of Oklahoma City, OK, LaTisha Thomas of Oklahoma City, OK, Franchesca Thomas of Oklahoma City, OK, Evelyn D. Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, Dennis Gay of Ardmore, OK; uncles, William Thomas, Jimmy Frazier, Bobby Frazier and wife Joann; special friends, Charlotte Harrison, Tyra Harrison, Carolyn Crooms; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Anna was preceded in death by her father, Frank Thomas; father of her children, Robert Nichols; daughter, Dominique Hopson; brothers, David Hopson, Anthony Jones; grandparents, Rosa and Curley Frazier, Elridge and Cora Lee Thomas; special friend, Chyrale Butler; aunts and uncles, Kalip Frazier, Lorenzo Burris, Bertha Harrison, Charlie Coulter, Lorene Alexander; along with other aunts, uncles and other relatives
