Obituary

Arnold Dewain McDonald, age 78, a Coleman, OK resident, formerly a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was born on Saturday, July 31, 1943, to Gordon and Susie Lorene (Smith) McDonald, at Atoka, OK. Arnold passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at his home in Coleman, OK surrounded by his loved ones. He graduated from Lindsey High School and went on to attend ECU. He graduated from SOSU in 1971 with a Bachelor's in Education and then in 1977 with a Master's Degree in Education. Arnold was a School Superintendent. Arnold proudly served his country in The Army as a Flight Traffic Specialist. He served in the Vietnam Era in the Navy and then transferred to the Army Reserve where he retired after 30 years. He married Christine Gloria (Cordova) on Monday, May 10th, 1965 at Gallup, NM. They celebrated 49 years of marriage before her passing on August 14, 2014. Arnold was a 50 year member of the Wapanucka Masonic Lodge #200, he was a Shriner, member of the America Legion, the PHI ALPHA THETA Fraternity, and Coleman VFW. He loved spending time with his family. Arnold was an avid reader, loved anything to do with history. He loved hunting, fishing, and collecting guns. Arnold was very proud of his military service which helped him obtain his GED and college education.
Arnold is survived by his children, Randal McDonald of Wapanucka, OK, Brenda Madden and husband Karl of Lane, OK, Robert McDonald and wife Christy of Coleman, OK; grandchildren, Tony McDonald of Wapanucka, OK, Nicole McDonald Willis of Wapanucka, OK, Kylie Trent of Lane, OK, Casey Tinney of Lane, OK, Brittany McDonald-Goudy and husband Kyle of Orlando, FL, Whitney McDonald of Coleman, OK; great grandchildren, Lexi Barns of El Paso, TX, Johnathan Hamilton of Ardmore, OK, Hayden Willis of Wapanucka, OK, Pistol Willis of Wapanucka, OK, Abby Tinney of ElDorado, OK, Gaberiel Trent of Durant, OK, Evalena Parrott of Coleman, LilliAnn Goudy of Orlando, FL, Angela Voss of Tennessee; great great grandchild, Serena Barns of El Paso, TX; along with other relatives and many dear friends.
Arnold was preceded in death by his father, Gordon McDonald; mother, Susie Lorene Hart; wife, Christine McDonald; grandson, Dusty Hamilton; step father, Roy Hart.
