Audrey Loretta (Burleson) Akey, age 84, an Oklahoma City, OK resident, formerly a longtime Stringtown resident, was born on Sunday, September 4, 1938, to Mark and Maggie Fay (Boston) Burleson, at Stringtown, OK. Audrey passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Oklahoma City, OK. She attended Stringtown Public School. Audrey was a housewife and homemaker and also worked as a manager for Dairy Queen in Oklahoma City, OK. She married John Samuel Akey in 1955 at Stringtown, OK. They enjoyed 40 years of marriage before his passing in 1995. Audrey was a lifelong Baptist. She loved flea markets, going to the lake and being with her grandchildren.
Audrey is survived by her children, John Darrell Akey of Moore, OK, Regina Fay Stone of Moore, OK, Dewight Wesley Akey of Moore, OK, Dewayne Samuel Akey and wife Rendi of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Donnetta Stone of Moore, OK, Craig Akey of Oklahoma City, OK, Ashley Akey of Washington, OK, Heather Snyder and husband Jon of Oklahoma City, OK, Jessieca Christiana of Oklahoma City, OK, John Jeremiah Akey of Oklahoma City, OK; great grandchildren, Craig Akey Jr., Angelina Akey, Aubrey Williams, Tristin Bradford, Zayne Christiana, Teaguen Christiana, Alicede Christiana, Kannon Jackson, Kreed Davidson; brothers, Everette Burleson and wife Roberta of Stringtown, OK, Ray Burleson and wife Ann of Chickasha, OK; sister, Carlotta Henson of Stringtown, OK; along with nieces nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Maggie Fay (Boston) Burleson; husband, John Samuel Akey; son in law, Stephen E. Stone; siblings, Bonnie Burleson, Marvin "Boots" Burleson, Frank Burleson, Bill Burleson, Sidney "Sid" Burleson, Joyce Teague.
