Barbara June (Hampton) Cameron-Stuart, a McAlester resident, was born on July 27, 1954, to Charles Loy and Valencia Mae (Davidson) Hampton, at their home in Olney, Oklahoma. She passed away on July 21, 2025, at Ada, Oklahoma, at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 24 days.

Barbara attended Olney School. She spent the first half of her life married to Fred Hall and together they raised their children, Jim and Sandra. But not just their children, Barbara took in many children and loved them like her own. She later married Gordon Cameron-Stuart on June 23, 1981, at Vernon, Texas. They were blessed with 29 years together before his passing on February 3, 2011.

She worked various jobs through the years from being a counselor at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary where she helped inmates reacclimate into society, to getting her CDL and driving a truck all over the U.S. She managed several EZ Mart stores in McAlester, managed the Greyhound Bus Station in McAlester and also owned and operated the cab company in McAlester before her retirement.

Barbara was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Dream City Church in McAlester. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, watching crime TV and wrestling.

Of all the jobs she ever had, babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren was her greatest pleasure.

Bill Hampton of Jerusalem, AR

Frank Hampton of Lindsay, OK

Along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews,

extended family and friends.
