Barbara Ellen Elliott, age 87, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was born on Wednesday, June 20, 1934, to Ethern Lee and Violet Melvina (Skinner) Garveston, at Amorita, OK. Barbara passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Atoka, OK. She attended Bentley Grade School and Atoka High School. Barbara was a cashier at Noel's Convenience Store and a caregiver. She married Chester Arthur Elliott on Thursday, December 1st, 1949 at Denison, TX. They celebrated 61 years of marriage before his passing on April 15, 2011. Barbara attended Tushka Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, anything about rodeoing, spending time with family, cleaning the house, in younger years she loved bowling and most of all, she loved taking care of people.
Barbara is survived by her children, Bob Elliott and wife Patsy of Yerrington, NV, Eddie Elliott and wife Hope of Dos Pales, CA, Doug Elliott and wife Liz of Atoka, OK, Annette Morris and husband Tom of Atoka, OK; sister, Della Davis of Kansas, OK; sister in law, Roberta Wilson of Crystal, OK; 9 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Ethern and Violet Melvina Garveston; husband, Art Elliott; in laws, RG and Vida Elliott; granddaughter, Poppy Elliott; siblings, Vivian Roundy, Opel Giggy, Jean and Joe Calderon, Teddy Garveston, Geneva Young; brothers and sisters in law, Short and Doris Elliott, Cleason and Myrtle Elliott, Clayton and Faye Elliott, Bud and Kathleen Elliott, Mae and Keith Hill, Jim and Faye Henderson, Ruby and Wiley Robbins
