Barbara Lee (Moreland) Fite, age 92, an Atoka, OK resident.
She was born on Wednesday, November 12, 1930, to Ralph William and Dessie Mae (Allen) Moreland, at Crystal, OK.
Barbara passed away peaceably in her sleep under hospice care at her daughters home in Atoka, Oklahoma on Friday, August 18, 2023. She attended Crystal Elementary School and attended Atoka High School and then went on to attend a trade school. Barbara was a hard worker holding jobs as a car hop, meat wrapper and a real estate agent. She married Cecil Shaw at the young age of 16, they moved to California to find work and a new life together. They later moved to North Bend, Oregon where they had Belinda, their only child. Barbara was later married to Bob Byzick and Preston Fite. Barbara was a Christian, baptized at Blackjack Baptist Church and later became a member of Southside Baptist Church of Atoka and attended Cowboy Crossing Church in Hugo with Dean and Belinda. She loved to travel and entertain friends. She was a city girl and a very beautiful lady. Barbara was also a caregiver for two of her husbands that preceded her in death.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Belinda Franke and husband Dean of Atoka, OK; step granddaughters, Lisa Moeller and Renee White of CA and 5 great granddaughters; brothers, Warren Moreland and Janette of Banning, CA, Charles Moreland and wife Barbara of Atoka, OK, IB Moreland and wife Connie of Atoka, OK, Bill Moreland and  Betty of Atoka, OK; sisters, Peggy Hutson of Daisy, OK, Mattie Veazey of Atoka, OK; sister in law, Elsie Moreland of Atoka, OK; along with many loved and very special nieces, nephews, and cousin; special friends, Glenn and Margie Richardson of Atoka, OK, Marty and Kim Finch of Atoka, OK, Diane Artus of Banning, CA, Mike and Doris Merritt of Hugo, OK, Larry and Judy Henson of Hugo, OK.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Dessie Moreland; brothers, Ralph Jr Moreland, Henry Moreland; sisters, Helen Anderson, Betty Joe Moreland ; husbands, Cecil Shaw, Bob Byzick, Preston Fite.
We would like to thank Southside Baptist Church of Atoka, Southeast Hospice of McAlester and Mike and Doris Merritt of Cowboy Crossing Cowboy Church in Hugo, OK, Brown's Funeral Service in Atoka and Van buren House in McAlester for the love and kindness they have had for our family.
