Bernice Agnes (Reeves) Thomas, age 92, a lifetime Ward's Chapel Resident in Atoka County, OK resident, was born on Sunday, February 21, 1926, to Robert and Lillian (Head) Reeves, at Caddo, OK. Bernice passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at her home in Atoka, OK. She attended Caddo Public School and Atoka Public School. Bernice was a homemaker, housewife, and ranch wife. She married St. Elmo Grant Thomas on Monday, April 29th, 1957 at Hugo, OK. They had 54 wonderful years together before his passing on March 9, 2011.
Bernice was a member of Ward's Chapel Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, rodeos, cooking (her husband grew the steaks and she cooked them. Bernice enjoyed Sunday School class, growing flowers, and loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Bernice is survived by her son, Frankie Whittington and wife Neeta of Coleman, OK; daughters, Shelia Barnett of Atoka, OK, Mary Massie of Caddo, OK, Anna Fisher and husband John of Atoka, OK; brother, Johnny Reeves and wife Betty of Stringtown, OK; sister, Elaine Heard and husband Jimmy of Fillmore, OK; sisters in law, Elwanda Williams of Midwest City, OK, Sue Flowers of Atoka, OK; brothers in law, Pete Thomas of Coalgate, OK, Bobby Thomas and wife Melva of Coalgate, OK; 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, many great great grandchildren; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lillian (Head) Reeves; husband, St. Elmo Grant Thomas.
