Obituary Bertie M. Cox, age 80, an Atoka, OK resident, was born on Wednesday, November 25, 1931, to Patrick and Nina (Ward) Hedgecock, at Utica, OK. Bertie passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Atoka, OK. She attended school as a young lady in the Antlers Community. Bertie was a Jewelry Store owner and operator. She married James W. "Dub" Cox in 1948 at Paris, Texas. Bertie was of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flowerbeds. Bertie is survived by her son, Rick Cox and wife Don Ann of Atoka, OK.; siblings, Bill Hedgecock and wife Inez of Antlers, OK., Lois Thompson of Sana Pala, CA.; grandchildren, Brad Cox and wife Dena of Stillwater, OK., Jason Cox and wife Gina of Harrah, OK., Sommer Cox of Aubrey, TX., Alyssha Walker and husband Jamie of Lavon, TX., Amanda Adams of Lane, OK., Jennifer Adams of Atoka, OK., Samantha Oldon and husband Steve of Bonham, TX.; 9 great grandchildren; special friends, Roy Pittman of Atoka, OK., Thomas Merritt of Caney, OK., Beckie Harbuck of Farris, OK., Juanita Morris of Cottonwood, OK., Bill Harris of Atoka, OK., Elmer "Mutt" Hall of Crystal, OK.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Bertie was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Nina (Ward) Hedgecock; husband, James W.
