Bessie Faye (Lorance) Childers, age 78, a lifelong Caney, OK area resident, was born on Saturday, February 3, 1940, to John William and Vada Dean (Kennedy) Lorance, at Caddo, OK. Bessie passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Durant, OK. She attended Blue High School in Bryan County. Bessie was a housewife and homemaker, worked at DeLeon Peanut in Durant, Atoka Manor, and owned and operated Wingfield Farms Fruit Stand. She married Rufus Childers Jr. on Saturday, December 3rd, 1955 at Caddo, OK. They had 50 wonderful years together before his passing in October of 2005. Bessie was raised in the Church of Christ and later attended the Baptist Church. She loved gardening, yard work, cooking, making great meals, was an expert at making chocolate gravy, going to the casino (she was very lucky) and shopping at Stage.
Bessie is survived by her daughters, Phyllis McPherson of Caney, OK, Sharon Dikeman and husband Butch of Tushka, OK; grandchildren, Phillip Wingfield and Katrina Renfro, Brandi Miller and husband Landon, Tonya Burnham and husband Tim, Christopher Taylor and wife Lyndsay, Kaci Taylor and Christian Latter; great grandchildren, Nashoeba Miller, Ian Miller, Phil Wingfield, Ruger Wingfield, Tristan Burnham, Tiffany Burnham, Braden Taylor, Harper Taylor, Kypten Campbell, Kaed'Lyne Taylor, Kyrese Taylor, BrezLyne Almos, Legion Almos; sister, Janie Childers of Caddo, OK; brother, Roy Lorance of Fresno, CA; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Bessie is preceded in death by her parents, John and Vada Dean (Kennedy) Lorance; husband, Rufus Childers Jr.; great grandson, Legion Almos; brothers, Raymond, Ralph, J.J. Johnny Lorance, and infant J.R. Lorance; sisters, Billie Hibdon, Margie Weaver, Edith Collins, Agnes Gaines.
