Betty Lou (Matthews) Collins, an Ardmore resident, was born on September 10, 1939, to Oscar Hugh and Josephine (Roberts) Matthews, at Talihina, OK. She passed away on April 28, 2023 at Ardmore, OK at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 18 days. Betty graduated from Centrahoma High School as Co-Salutatorian with her twin sister, Billie. She was the forward for the Centrahoma Bulldogs basketball team. Betty was a house wife. She married Miller Durrett Collins on January 9, 1960 at the First Baptist Church in Sulphur, Oklahoma. They were blessed with 64 wonderful years together. Betty was a member of the Coalgate and Clarita Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, raising chickens, cooking, sewing and quilting. Her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
