IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Sue
Cosgrove
August 20, 1947 – June 6, 2025
Betty Sue Cosgrove, 77, of Coalgate, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, in Oklahoma City.
Sue was born on August 20, 1947, to Nem and Sally Wafford. She graduated from Olney High School and went on to build a life rooted in love, family, and community. On February 7, 1970, she married Travis Keith Cosgrove. Together, they celebrated 55 years of marriage this year and made their home in Coalgate.
Sue had a beautiful soul and a heart full of joy. She loved to sing, attend rodeos, watch her show cattle, and most of all, be surrounded by her family. She rarely missed a ballgame, stock show, or school event – always there to cheer on the kids she loved so much. She was their biggest fan, and her unwavering support will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband, Keith Cosgrove of the home; brother Bill Wafford and Haley Moore of Olney, Oklahoma; and sister-in-law Lavoy Phipps of Stillwater, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her cherished nieces and nephews: Sabrina Vaughn and husband Adam of Durant, Michael Wafford and wife Marty of Clarita, Jeff Phipps and wife Lisa of Stillwater, Gina Lowe and husband Torrey of Caddo Mills, Texas, Chris Carter and husband Chad of Durant, Sondra Garcia of Texas, Kenny Pitts of Arkansas. Her great nieces and great nephews include: Breuklynd Vaughn, Zachary Vaughn, Cash Wafford, Lainee Wafford, Sierra Phipps, Savannah Phipps, Tad Lowe, Rylee Sue Lowe, Kolby Halley, and Morgan Feltman.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Nem and Sally Wafford; her sister, Joyce Nadine Ennis; her in-laws, Travis and Ruby Cosgrove; sister-in-law Barbara Cosgrove; brother-in-law Bill Phipps; and baby daughter Lori Ann Cosgrove.
