Betty Jane Jackson left this world in the arms of Jesus on September 30, 2020. She was 92 years 11 months 3 days. Betty was saved at a young age and served the Lord in Baptist churches from Vernon, TX, Phillips, TX, Borgor, TX, and Atoka, OK at Atoka First Baptist Church then Southside Baptist Church. In her younger years she taught Sunday School, Children's Church, coordinated the nursery and played the piano. She witnessed for Jesus to everyone she met. Betty was instrumental in getting several neighbors in church and saved. She was a housewife and mother. Betty moved to Atoka in 1997 to be close to her family. She loved singing in the choir at Southside Baptist Church and she loved her church family. Betty loved all animals especially her dog Max and her cat of 18 years, Sweetie Pie, was very generous, helped a lot of people and organizations.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Vickie Howard of Atoka, OK; grandsons, Richard Blankenship and wife Wendy of Amarillo, TX, John Thacker of Atoka, OK, Jimmy Thacker and wife Caron of Stringtown, OK; 7 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; brother, Frank E. Stewart and wife Janelle of Alamogordo, NM; sister in law, Linda Stewart of Vernon, TX; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Vida Pearl (Black) Stewart; husband, J.B. Jackson; daughter, Barbara Blankenship; brother, Charles Stewart; son in law, Richard Howard.
