Betty Jo (Burleson) Young, age 88, a Coalgate resident. She was born on October 26, 1931, to Lem Arvard and Martha Frances (Walker) Burleson, at Coalgate, OK. Betty passed away on May 25, 2020 at Coalgate, OK. She attended Bethel & Coalgate schools. Betty was a Bus Driver for 38 years for Coalgate Public Schools. She was the first female bus driver in the state of Oklahoma. Betty also drove her husband's dump from time to time.She married Arthur "Dushie" Young on January 27,1947 in Ada, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2001. Betty was a devoted Pentecostal Christian. She enjoyed cooking, canning and watching her grandchildren. She loved arrowhead hunting & fishing but her greatest treasure was spending time with her family.
