Bill R. Lang Sr., age 76, was a longtime resident of Atoka, Oklahoma. Bill was born on Saturday, February 10, 1945, in Sacramento, California. His parents were Loyd D. and Geneva (Gaddis) Lang. The family relocated to Atoka, Oklahoma where he attended and graduated from Atoka High School in 1964.
On March 23, 1964, Bill married Sharon F. Settlemires of Atoka. They recently celebrated 57 wonderful years of marriage this past March. Bill proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and the US Army. Later, he became a member of the local chapter of the VFW. He continued his public service as a member of the Atoka Police Department working his way to the rank of Chief of Police in the 1980's.
Bill had an unwaivering faith in God and was a member of the Moutain View Pentecostal Church of God and later at the Atoka First Assembly of God. In his life Bill was an outdoor enthusiast who loved camping, hunting, and fishing. What he valued most was spending time with family and friends, telling stories to anyone who would listen.
On saturday, May 29, 2021, Bill went home to be with his Lord surrounded by the love of his wife, Sharon.
