OBITUARY NAME: Billy Mac Potts age 77, a life long Stringtown area resident. BORN: He was born on March 5, 1933, to John Taylor and Kathryn Doreatha (Denton) Potts, in Stringtown, Ok. PASSED AWAY: Bill passed away on July 23, 2010, at Stringtown, Ok. AGE 77 YEARS 4 MONTHS AND 20 DAYS EDUCATION: He Graduated from Stringtown and later from Southeastern Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma. He received his Masters with Administrative Certificates. MARRIED: Bill married Barbara Lee Lowry on December 24, 1955 at Stringtown, Ok. OCCUPATION: He taught and coached at Stringtown from 1957 to 1965. He then became the High School Principal/Teacher/Coach until 1981. At which time he became the Superintendent. He later retired in 1992. CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES, AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: He was a longtime member of the Stringtown Baptist Church. Bill was the Sunday School Superintendent and teacher at the Stringtown Baptist Church. He was a member and a chairman of the Stringtown Cemetery Association, and a former member of the Stringtown Lions Club. He loved playing dominos, hunting, fishing and telling family stories. SON-IN-LAW: Arnold Patton and Debra of Stringtown, Ok. SISTERS: Beulah Mae Unger of San Diego, Ca. Judy Embry and husband Bob of Ft. Smith, Ar. GRANDCHILDREN: Joel Taylor Potts and wife Shannon of Owaso, Ok. Shaunci Lee Johnson and husband Casey of Stringtown, Ok. Justin Warren Potts of Stringtown, Ok. Jodi Lynn Martin and husband Mike of Choctaw, Ok. Toni Breon Magby and husband Bradley of Daisy, Ok. Shea Daniel Patton of Stringtown, Ok. Alex Kate Potts of Stringtown, Ok. Cooie Warren Potts of Stringtown, Ok. BROTHER-IN-LAW: Jim Yost and wife Jean of Midwest City, Ok. GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: 12 and 1 expected soon.
