Bobby Wayne Muncy, age 91, a Daisy, OK, Atoka County resident since 1965. He was born on Tuesday, June 23, 1931, to Lonnie Theodore and Mittie (Harville) Muncy, at Runnels County, TX. Bobby passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at his home in Daisy, OK surrounded by his loved ones.
He graduated High School in 1949. Bob went on to attend Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX with a BA, and a Master of Divinity, attended Southwest Baptist theology College in Ft. Worth, TX. Bobby worked for West Texas Utilities, worked in the oil field, worked as an electrician, and was a Minister for over 50 years. He served at McGee Valley Baptist Church for 33 years. Bobby proudly served his country in The 36th Division with the Texas National Guard at Camp Bowie, TX. He married Dorothy Ann (Lennon) on Friday, June 19th, 1959 at Angus Baptist Church in Corsicana, TX. They celebrated 63 1/2 years of marriage before his passing. Bob was a lifelong Baptist, a member and Minister of McGee Valley Baptist Church, Atoka county Minister Alliance, volunteer Chaplain at the Mack Alford Correctional Center and also served as interim Chaplain. . He enjoyed hunting, fishing, miniature golf and mission work in Mexico and the Philippines.
Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy Ann Muncy of the home in Daisy, OK; children, Steve Muncy and wife Tandi of Corsicana, TX, Dottie Burkhalter and husband Dennis of Lane, OK; grandchildren, Amber Culbreath and husband Joe of Voca, OK, Rickey Burkhalter and wife Tiffanie of Harmony, OK, Hanna Muncy Grant and husband Peter of Dallas, TX, Mikey Muncy and fiancé Mallory of Dallas, TX, Kaylee Stalling and husband Jimmy of Woodlands, TX; great grandchildren, Baylee Burkhalter, Allison Muncy, Braydee Burkhalter, Annie Culbreath; sister, Margie Johnson of Midland, TX; in laws, Melba Lennon of Corsicana, TX, Larry Lennon and wife Beverly of Corsicana, TX; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Theodore and Mittie (Harville) Muncy; siblings, Fay Harvey, Roy Muncy, Infant Brother, Lonnie Ray Muncy; grandson, Jacob Muncy.
