Bobby Owens, age 83, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident. He was born on Tuesday, August 15, 1939, to Woodrow and Callie (Tomlinson) Owens, at Atoka, OK. Bobby passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023 at his home in Atoka, OK. He attended Atoka High School. Bobby was a lifelong Rancher. He married Shirley (Ayers) on Friday, May 19th, 1989 at Atoka, Oklahoma. Bob's interests over the years included leather work, making belts and wallets, woodwork and construction and even building his home on Black Jack Road. His biggest passion in life was
raising Game roosters and was featured on the cover of The Gamecock magazine in 1981. After retiring he began raising AKC dogs. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Bentley.
Survivors include his children; Kenneth Owens and wife Sheila of Atoka, Brenda Butterfield and husband Jack of Atoka, Russell Owens and wife Linda of Valley Springs, California, Tammy Westervelt and husband Steve of Coppell, Texas, Jerry Owens and wife Aimee of Wilton, New Hampshire, along with 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren. Siblings, Norene Shoemake of Warrensburg, MO, Wayne Owens of Atoka, OK, Melba Brothers of Devol, OK, Linda Kisinger and husband Paul of Atoka along with numerous nephews and nieces.
Preceding him in death; his wife, Shirley (Ayers) Owens and his parents, Woodrow and Callie (Tomlinson) Owens.
