Brandon Wayne Yates, age 42, a Durant, OK resident., formerly of Atoka County Oklahoma. He was born on Friday, December 31, 1982, to Terry Don and Nina Crystal Darlene (Owens) Yates, at Hugo, OK. Brandon passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at his home in Durant, OK. He graduated from Canadian High School and then went on to  attend SOSU.  Brandon was a farrier. He served his country in the US Army. Brandon was of the baptist faith. He enjoyed art, painting, (was very good at drawing), hunting, fishing, camping and did not mind taking a good nap, and loved his dogs.
Brandon is survived by his father, Terry Don Yates and wife Lynn of Talihina, OK; mother, Nina Owens of Farris, OK; grandmother, Georgia Yates of Lane, OK; sister, Ashley Yates of Atoka, OK; brother, Eric Hunt and wife Kassi of Atoka, OK; longtime girlfriend, Staci Allen of the home in Durant, OK; uncles, Tommy Yates of Boswell, OK, Larry Owens of Centerpoint, OK, Clifton Owens of Centerpoint, OK; aunts, Janice Chavers and husband Robert of Ardmore, OK, Loretta Reeves and husband Billy of Stringtown, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Brandon was preceded in death by his brother, James Paul Yates; paternal grandpa, Edward Leon Yates; maternal grandpa, James Cubby Owens; maternal grandma, Dee Owens; great paternal grandparents, Arthur and Dellamae Yates.
