Carla Jean (Leuty) Jackson, age 65, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident. She was born on Saturday, October 18, 1958, to Olen Pierce "OP" and Nellie (Branum) Leuty, at Antlers, OK. Carla passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024 at Atoka, OK. She attended Harmony Grade School and graduated from Atoka High School with the class of 1976. Carla worked at Wrangler Mfg, owned and operated several retail stores, professional photographer and was elected Atoka County Treasurer before she worked for Atoka County Dist 2. She married John Wayne Jackson on Wednesday, July 6th, 1977 at Tushka Baptist Church. They celebrated 47 years of marriage before his passing on August 12, 2024. Carla was a lifelong member of Blackjack Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was very active in her church work. Her favorite Bible verse was Philippians 4:13. She was currently a member of Harmony School Board, formerly treasurer of Atoka Trail Riders, very active in numerous organizations, fund raisers, was a founding member of The Harmony Community Center. She went above and beyond to help anyone in need. Carla's grandkids were her life.
Carla is survived by her children, Robin Banks and husband Ricky of Atoka, OK, Cody Jackson and wife Alyssa of Atoka, OK; grandsons, Matthew Begley and wife Jennifer of Caddo, OK, Trevor Begley of Atoka, OK, Tader Jackson of Atoka, OK, Pepper Jackson of Atoka, OK, Jacob Hyde of Atoka, OK, Rack Jackson of Atoka, OK, Reckett Jackson of Atoka, OK; granddaughters, Madyson Leeper and husband Tony of Weatherford, OK, Fanci Navarro of Atoka, OK; great grandchildren, Kaden Begley, Lucie Jackson; siblings, Sharon Graham and husband Bobby of Harmony, OK, Roger Leuty and wife Clara of Harmony, OK; very dear friends, Denna Herring, Ginger Wilson, Blackjack Church Families
along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Carla was preceded in death by her parents, Op and Nellie (Branum) Leuty; husband, Wayne Jackson; brother, Jimmy Leuty.
