Carolyn Sue (Rush) Cole, age 79, a longtime Atoka, OK resident was born on Thursday, September 27, 1945, to Vester and Helen Virginia (Loftis) Rush, at Fayetteville, AR. Carolyn passed away on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Atoka, OK. She attended Shawnee Public School. Carolyn was a homemaker. She married Perry Verl Cole on Monday, February 25th, 1974, at Ada, OK. They celebrated 41 years of marriage before Perry's passing on November 9, 2015. Carolyn was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her family, loved nature especially bird watching and just being outside. Carolyn was known for her coconut cake and fried taters by her family. She had no issue telling people her opinion. But her greatest enjoyment was hanging out with her family and would welcome anyone into her home.
Carolyn is survived by her son, Michael Cole of Atoka, OK; sisters, Jackie Chancellor of Oklahoma City, OK, Barbara Jackson of El Reno, OK; brother, Vester "Nugget" Rush and wife Mary of Norman, OK; stepchildren, Barbara Reece of Stringtown, OK, Jeff Cole, Bobbie Youngblood and husband Gene of Checotah, OK, Stacie of Stigler, OK; grandsons, Dustin Woodard of McKinney, TX and Derick Woodard of Tennessee; great granddaughters, Terri Woodard and Rasley Woodard, Kilah Renae; along with numerous nieces, nephews and host of friends that she loved.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Vester and Helen Virginia (Loftis) Rush, husband, Perry Cole; daughters, Lise Sue Blevins, Terri Lynn Cooper; father-in-law: Perry Andy Cole, mother-in-law; Annie Cole; brothers: Ronnie Rush, Larry Rush; sister, Renae Rush.
