Alice Carolyn Roland, age 81, a longtime Atoka, OK resident. She was born on Friday, July 16, 1943, to Elzie B. and Mattie Ilene (Callaway) Seabourn, at Mesa, AZ. Carolyn passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Tulsa, OK. She graduated from Atoka High School and went on to complete the Business Certificate Program at KTC and the Flower Arranging Program at Grayson County College. Carolyn was a Receptionist, Secretary, and Medical Records Clerk for Dr. Robert Hayes for over 25 years. She was most importantly a Grandma. She married Harold D. Roland on Wednesday, September 19th, 1962 at Atoka, OK. They enjoyed 44 years of marriage together before his passing in 2006. Carolyn was a lifelong member of the Southside Baptist Church, Disabled Americans Veterans Auxiliary, and the Atoka County Medical Center Auxiliary. She loved sewing, cooking, camping, playing cards, dancing, floral design, and watching The Golden Girls with her kids (Vern and Wayne not so much, lol) and granddaughters.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Cheryl Roland-Roberts and husband Wayne of Blanchard, OK, Vernon Roland of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Ashley Little and husband Matt of Stuart, OK, Molly Sanders of Durant, OK, Hailey Roland-Wood and husband Landri of Antlers, OK, Sophia Roland and boyfriend Joshua Norton of Atoka, OK, Abby Roland of Atoka, OK, Daysha Nelson and husband Johnny of Norman, OK, Kailey Evans and husband Trevor of Wayne, OK; lifelong friends, Joe DeWitt of Mead, OK, Barbara Johnson Ritter of Caney River, MI, Barbara Moreland of Atoka, OK, Jeri Griffin of Atoka, OK; siblings, Riliegh Seabourn of Dibble, OK, Jeanie Seabourn Hutcheson of Muskogee, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and host of church family and friends.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Elzie B. and Mattie Ilene (Callaway) Seabourn; husband, Harold D. Roland; very best friend, Ruth Costiloe McDougal (Maternal Grandmother); siblings, Gertrude Tidwell, Opal Joyce Reed, Michael Stephen Seabourn; daughter in law, Aleshia McClendon Roland.
