Cecil Ray Butler, age 91, a lifelong Atoka County Farris, OK resident. He was born on Saturday, December 12, 1931, to Smith and Ollie Sue (Martin) Butler, at Farris, OK. Cecil passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at Atoka, OK. He attended Farris Grade School, graduated from Atoka High School, then went on to attend Murray State College where he received an Associate's Degree in Agriculture. Cecil went on to attend OSU. Cecil was a farmer and rancher and owned and operated Butler Grocery in Farris, OK. Cecil proudly served his country in The US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Shirley Nadine (Harris) on Saturday, June 25th, 1955 at McAlester, OK. They celebrated 68 years of marriage before his passing. Cecil was a member and Deacon of Farris Baptist Church, board member of Atoka County Farm Bureau from 1987 - 2023, and a member of OK Cattleman's Association. He loved to camp and travel, witnessing about his Lord, and being with his family.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Shirley Nadine Butler of the home in Farris, OK; children, Debra Sue Vaughan and husband Robert of Farris, OK, Ron Butler and wife Vickie of Farris, OK, Stacy Butler and wife Maygan of Farris, OK; grandchildren, Shawna Bingham and husband James, Deana Dungan and husband Scott, Ryan Butler, Sarah Richardson and husband Zach, Bryce Butler, Allyson Butler; great grandchildren, Jaycie Bingham, Wyatt Vaughan, Abigail Bingham, Zander Butler, Zoey Butler, Hazel Richardson, Taylor Dungan, Zac Dungan, Haylie Dungan; niece, Tamara Butler Gaffney and husband Brandon of Skiatook, OK; along with numerous cousins, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Smith and Ollie Sue (Martin) Butler; brother, Johnny Lee Butler and wife Sandra Butler; sister, Shirley Sue Butler.
