October 12, 1960 – January 17, 2025
Cecilie Gro (Djuve) Turner, age 64, an Atoka, OK resident, was born on Wednesday, October 12, 1960, to Amund and Evelyn Viola (Gitz) Djuve, at New Orleans, LA. Cee passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Atoka, OK. She graduated from John Ehret High School in Marerro, Louisiana with the class of 1980. Cecilie went on to Southeastern Louisiana University where she received an ASSC in Business. Cee was a homemaker and worked customer service at Wyrick Lumber Company where she will be missed by many coworkers and customers. She married James Edward Turner on Sunday, February 14th, 1982 at Hammond, LA.
Cee loved singing in church and helped lead singing at the Atoka First Methodist Church, where she was an active member for many years. She served as Cubmaster of Atoka's Pack 92 for many years. She was also an active member of Ohoyohoma Chapter #1, Order of the Eastern Star and had served as Worthy Matron several times. Cee was the current Associate Matron, the current First Lady of Oklahoma Masonic Lodge #4 in Atoka, a Widow's Sons Masonic Motorcycle Association Lady. Cee was the family historian and loved sharing it with everyone. She enjoyed working in her yard, baking, hiking, camping, and traveling with her husband on a motorcycle, she was always ready for the next adventure. Cee cherished time with family, especially the grandchildren. She was a very happy and cheerful person, always had a smile, and never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Her infectious smile and positive outlook lifted the spirits of everyone she encountered and served as an inspiration for everyone, anytime you met Cee you could expect a hug.
She is survived by her husband, James Edward Turner of Atoka, OK; sons, James E. Turner Jr. of Cameron, NC and wife Laura of Dillingham, AK, William J. Turner and wife Vanessa of Wapanucka, OK; grandchildren, Earl and Addison Turner of Dillingham, AK and Brenda and Remington Turner of Wapanucka, OK; sisters, Kirsten Djuve of Madisonville, LA and Astrid Koppenol and husband Jerry of Tylertown, MS; brothers, Olave Djuve and wife Bobbie Jo of Madisonville, LA; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many special and wonderful friends.
Cee was preceded in death by her parents, Amund and Evelyn Viola (Gitz) Djuve; brother, Amund O. Djuve; mother in law, Willie LaCaze
