Charles "Wayne" Cathey Sr., age 60, a longtime Tushka - Atoka, OK resident, was born on Thursday, October 13, 1960, to Charlie Lavern and Bonnie Marie (McCurdy) Cathey, at Tishomingo, OK. Wayne passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at McAlester, OK. He attended Connerville Public School through 8th grade and later attended High School in Deming, New Mexico. Wayne was an over the road truck driver and also drove for Mid State Materials most recently. He married Patsy Joyce Mowles on Monday, June 26th, 1978 at Texas, two children were born of this union.
Wayne was of the Baptist faith. He was a big Nascar fan, enjoyed fishing, watching western movies, was an avid John Wayne fan and most of all loved his family dearly and had a big heart.
Wayne is survived by his children, Charles W. Cathey Jr. and wife Monica of Bentley, OK, Lisa Raiburn and husband Chris of Kiowa, OK; girlfriend and best friend, Tonia Branam of McAlester, OK; siblings, Bobby Joe Cathey and wife Kerri of Ft. Worth, TX, Gary Don Cathey and wife Laurie of Yukon, OK, Barbara Cathey-Johnson and husband Tim of Canadian, OK, Ricky Allen Cathey and wife Michelle of Fittstown, OK; grandchildren, Shelby Cathey and Kimber Cathey of Bentley, OK; aunts, Mettie Hawkins Croy and husband John of Duncan, OK, Naomi Cathey of Ada, OK; uncle, Earl Cathey and wife Janie of Idabel, OK; step mother, Rita Cathey of Ada, OK; step siblings, David, Daryl, Tammie;  along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Lavern and Bonnie Marie (McCurdy) Cathey; wife, Patsy Cathey; infant brother, Tommy Cathey; infant sister, Shelba Cathey.
