Charles Clay Mays, age 56, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident, was born on Monday, April 10, 1967, to Charles Clinton and Barbara June (Whitmire) Mays, at Atoka, OK. Charles passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023 at Oklahoma City, OK. He graduated from Atoka High School with the class of 1986. Charles was a truck driver, road worker and hay hauler. Charles attended Mt. View Pentecostal Church in Atoka. He enjoyed riding horses, church, dancing, taking care of his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He is survived by his mother, Barbara Mays in Atoka, OK; sister, Mary Aynes and Tommy Magruder of Atoka, OK; niece, Jossie Maxey of Atoka, OK; nephew, Jimmie Perry and wife Keisha of Tushka, OK; great niece, Jemma Maxey of Atoka, OK; great nephews, Joshua Maxey of Atoka, OK, Rieder Perry of Tushka, OK; aunts, Carolyn Knight of Atoka, OK, Nana Lou Robbins of Atoka, OK, Trudy Lomas and husband Amillio of Roff, OK, Vickie Whitmire of Mannsville, OK, Doris Taylor of Atoka, OK; uncles, Wade Whitmire and wife Carla of Arlington, TX, Kearl Mays and wife Linda of Wier, KS, Jim Mays and wife Aleta of Fairland, OK; great great aunt, Noreen Isom of Daisy, OK, along with cousins and other relatives and many dear friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles Mays; brother, Andy Mays; grandparents, Geraldine and Aaron Whitmire, Ruby and Al Mays; cousins, David Mays, Curtis Mays, Travis Whitmire
