Charles Marion
Reed Sr.
October 31, 1933 – March 7, 2020
Charles Marion Reed, Sr., age 86, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was born on Tuesday, October 31, 1933, to Lewis Marion and Lola Louella (Mitchell) Reed, at Prague, OK. Charles passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at his home in Atoka, OK. He graduated from Schulter High School. Charles worked as a maintenance/repair man for Okmulgee and Atoka schools. Charles proudly served his country in The Marines in Okinawa, Japan and Korea. He married Dolores Kennedy in 1952 at Henryetta, OK, she preceded him in death in May of 1986. He later married Eunice Mayo in 1987, she preceded him in death in 2019. Charles was a member of the Talladega Masonic Lodge #201, American Legion, was a founding member and Deacon of New Hope Baptist Church in Bentley and was very proud to serve over the youth program at Church, an auxillary police officer in Henrietta, and loved spending time with his family.
Charles is survived by his sons, Charles Marion Reed Jr. and wife Karla of Okmulgee, OK, John Franklin Reed of Okmulgee, OK, Robert Lee Reed of Summit, OK, Jeffrey Reed of Muskogee, OK; daughters, Judith Ann Robinson and husband Joe of Lamar, OK, Teresa Todd and husband Trace of Vinita, OK, Carla Epperson of Tulsa, OK; stepson, Glen Dwiggins of Atoka, OK; brother, Bobby Lee Reed of Burkburnett, TX; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Marion and Lola Louella (Mitchell) Reed; wives, Dolores Reed, Eunice Reed; daughter, Patricia Jo Reed; infant brother, stepson, Gilbert Dwiggins.
