OBITUARY NAME: Charles Wesley Tigert, age 80, was a lifelong resident of Atoka County. BORN: He was born on August 17, 1930 to Ben Tigert and Mary Alice ( Nichols) Tigert in the Post Oak Community around Caney, Ok. PASSED AWAY: Charles Passed away on March 11, 2011 in the Texoma Medical Center at Denison, Tx. AGE 80 YEARS 7 MONTHS AND 24 DAYS EDUCATION: He graduated from Caney High School in 1949. OCCUPATION: Charles was the Director of the Vo Tech Schools at Mack Alford Correctional Center in Stringtown, Ok. After years of service, he retired in 1988 MILITARY: He was in th U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1952. MARRIED: Charles married Lois Strickland on February 6, 1959 at Euless, Tx. CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES, AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: Charles was a very active member of the Voca Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing , gardening, and loved playing music with his friends and watching his grandchildren and his great grandchildren play ball. Charles loved his church and his family very much and his community. SURVIVED BY Daughter: Robbi Watson and husband Frog of Caney, Ok. 4 Grandchildren: Lari Brister of Durant Cassie Watson of Colbert Kari Peterson and husband Steven Matt Bradford and wife Amanda 6 Great Grandchildren: Bryce Brister, Nolan Brister, Ryleigh Watson. Landon Peterson, Haley and David Crowell 4 Sisters: Bernice Whitten of Denison, Tx. Joyce Ferguson of Caney, Ok. Julia Dean Alexander of Durant, Ok. Lorene Bufford of Ft. Worth , Tx.
