May 12, 1933 – January 7, 2021
Charlotte Jeanette Turrentine, age 87, a longtime Atoka, OK resident for the past 41 years, lived in many areas of the U.S. and overseas while Ken served in the military, was born on Friday, May 12, 1933, to David Singleton Smith, and Ora Lou Blodgett at Burkburnett, TX. Jeanette passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Durant, OK. She attended and graduated from Burkburnett High School. Jeannette was a housewife and homemaker and also worked a number of years in the family accounting office. She married Kenneth Turrentine on Saturday, February 11th, 1956 at Wichita Falls, TX. He preceded her in death in November 2012. They celebrated 56 years of marriage before his passing.
Jeanette was a longtime member of and Sunday School teacher at the First Baptist Church of Atoka. She was active with God's Golden Jubilee in the church. Jeanette enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, was a "BIG" Texas Longhorn and Dallas Cowboy fan.
Jeanette is survived by her sons, Tony Turrentine of Denver, CO, Ray Turrentine of Atoka, OK, Steve Turrentine and wife Carlee of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Eli Turrentine of Atoka, OK, Emmalee Turrentine of Atoka, OK; brother in law, James Turrentine and wife Regina of Ardmore, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, David Singleton Smith and Ora Lou Blodgett; husband, Ken Turrentine; siblings, Zella Shaw, Opal Carey, Alberta Belger, Lloyd Smith, Ruth Pontbriand, John Wayne Smith.
