Cheryl Ann (Cadwalader) Elrod, age 76, a longtime Atoka, OK resident, was born on Sunday, November 28, 1943, to Harry D. and Emma (Bower) Cadwalader, at Windsor, CO. Cheryl passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Jenks, OK. She graduated from Greeley High School in Colorado. Cheryl was a bus driver for Atoka Public Schools.
She married James H. Elrod on December 9, 1961 at Winter Haven, CA. He preceded her in death on September 10, 2014. They celebrated 53 years of marriage before his passing. Cheryl was a member of Farris Baptist Church. She enjoyed being a homemaker, raising miniature horses, volunteering at church, being a vacation Bible school teacher, and loved spending time with her family, and helping raise her grandchildren.
Cheryl is survived by her son, Harry Elrod and wife Kelli of Mounds, OK; daughter, Lori Ozment of Texas; grandchildren, Rutanya Callicoat of Blue, OK, Jami Greer and husband Cody of Pryor, OK, Carley Abbott of Texas, Kenzie Hendry and husband Reagan of Texas, Keaton Abbot of Texas, Jay Bible of Tulsa, OK, Nicole Smith of Tulsa, OK, Lindsey Wheeler and husband Johnnie of Owasso, OK, Taylor McIntosh and wife Sonny of S.C.; multiple great grandchildren; along with other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Emma (Bower) Cadwalader; husband, James H. Elrod; daughter, Penny Hutson; grandson, Chad Callicoat; sister, Gail Johnson.
