Christine Betsey-Benge, age 88, a Tahlequah, OK resident. She was born on Wednesday, July 11, 1932, to Preston and Frances (Willis) Betsey, at Bentley, OK. Christine passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021 at Tecumseh, OK. She graduated from Chilocco Boarding school in Newkirk, OK. Christine was a Nurse for several years for the Indian Health Services of the Creek and Cherokee Nations. She was also a surgical nurse at W.W. Hasting Hospital in Tahlequah, OK. She was married to Eryon Leslie Benge. Christine was of the baptist faith. She attended Elm Tree Baptist Church in Tahlequah, OK. She was a member of the Choctaw tribe. She enjoyed shopping, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She raised three of her grandchildren, and loved to listen to the Sunday sermon on the radio. Christine is survived by her grandchildren: Kryste Carter and husband Jordan of Shawnee; Nathan Allen Benge of Muskogee, OK; Elonka Ray Voros of Edmond, OK; Maxwell Stern Dry of Jay, OK; Joshua Lewis of Tahlequah, OK; Desiree Kinsley of Shawnee, OK; 15 Great Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, along with many dear friends and loved ones. Christine is preceded in death by her parents: Preston and Frances (Willis) Betsey; husband: Eryon Leslie Benge; sons: Marcellus Jobe Benge; Edward Lee Pilcher; and siblings: Alice Ward; Marie Baxter; Loretta Johnson; and Adam Betsey.
