Christopher Genne Chitwood

Christopher "Chris" Genne Chitwood, age 76, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident was born on Wednesday, January 4, 1950, to Robert Joseph "Bob" and Barbara Jean (McNeil) Chitwood, at Atoka, OK. Chris passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Atoka, OK. He attended Puntnam City High School in Oklahoma City and went on a graduated from Texas Christian University in Ranch Management. Chris continued his studies at Oklahoma State University for his graduate courses. Chris was a cattleman and managed feedlots all over Oklahoma, Texas and Colorado. He was a contractor for TxDot, an entrepreneur, commodity broker, and a jack of all trades. He married Deborah Gail (Masterson) on March 16th, 1985 at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Atoka. Chris was a pilot and enjoyed flying. Chris had two V tail Bonanza Airplanes in his lifetime. Chris had a honorary 33rd Degree from the Masonic lodge, Chris was a shriner, and was very involved in boy scouts and became an eagle Scout in high school. He would spend every second he could with his dear wife (because she spoiled him). Chris made the best brisket, was the grill master. Chris had a talent that he could cook anything.

Chris is survived by his wife, Debby Chitwood of the home. Son, Doug Chitwood and wife Dana of Kingston, OK; daughter, Lindsey Chitwood Lane of Atoka, OK; son, Christopher Chitwood and wife Kasi of Atoka, OK, Paul Chitwood; grandchildren, Cole Lane, Harper Lane, Kenzie Lane, Triston Adams, Jack Richardson, Allie Richardson, Alabama Chitwood, Jack Chitwood, London & Dylan McMahon, Taylor & Blake Sourjohn, Braeden & Tara Verrett. Great grandchildren, Lowan McMahon, Hadley McMahon, Brady McMahon, Cash Sourjohn, Dahlia Sourjohn; sister-in-law, Pat Olmstead and husband Bill of Sugarland, TX; brother-in-law, Jerry & Karen Masterson of Denison, TX; close family member, Kathryn Frazier of Edmond, OK

Along with numerous extended family and friends.

Chris is peceded in death by his parents, Robert and Barbara Jean (Chitwood) Chitwood; and stepmom, Greta Chitwood.
