Chunsa Peter Gipson, 32, of Durant, Oklahoma, passed away on July 18, 2026, in Denison, Texas.
Chunsa was born on May 10, 1994, in Talihina, Oklahoma, to Nehemiah Gipson and Margaret Ann (Scott) Gipson.
Chunsa attended Atoka schools before later earning his GED. He continued his education through online college courses. He volunteered at Homeless Shelter and was passionate about helping others through education and service.
He enjoyed playing video games, especially indie games, reading, watching movies, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. Chunsa had a kind heart, a thoughtful spirit, and touched the lives of many who knew him.
Chunsa is survived by his brother, Steven Gipson and wife, Kayla, of Durant, Oklahoma; his aunt, Stella Scott of Atoka, Oklahoma; his uncles, Nathan Scott and wife, Linda, of Tushka, Oklahoma; Roger Scott and wife, Rhoda, of Calera, Oklahoma; Ronnie Scott and wife, Marilyn, of Panama City, Florida; Martin Scott of McAlester, Oklahoma; and Jimmy Scott and wife, Anna, of Tushka, Oklahoma; cousins, Thomas Hardy, Joshua Daney, Jennifer Daney Gibson, Sarah Hardy-Trusty, Alisha Hardy-Shumake, Jamie Daney, Mike Scott, Bradley Scott, Ranell Scott-Charpentier, Kacey Carney, Greg Scott, Nita Scott, Yannash Scott, Angela (Scott) Copeland and many other extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Chunsa was preceded in death by his parents, Nehemiah Gibson and Margaret Ann Gibson; his brother, Tunstabi Gipson; his cousin, Chris Scott; his uncle, Preston Scott; his uncle, Samson Scott; his maternal grandparents, Savannah Scott and Jasper Scott; and his paternal grandparents, Willie Gipson and Mary Gipson.
