Cora Ellen (Thompson) Burleson- Clay, age 78, a Daisy, OK resident was born on Monday, July 22, 1940, to Dave and Artie Carmen (Gilliland) Thompson, at Lake Worth, TX. Ellen passed away on Friday, April 12, 2019 at Daisy, OK. She graduated from high school in Springtown, TX. Ellen was an accountant with the Department of Corrections for over 40 years. She married Donald Lee James Burleson on August 12, 1958 in Lake Worth, TX. To this union four children were born, Gerry, Terry, Diane, and Allen. She later married Eugene Clay on Thursday, March 18th, 1976 at McAlester, OK. Ellen was a member of McGee Valley Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and doing anything she could do with them.
Ellen is survived by her sons, Gerry Don and wife Raylene of Sherman, TX, Terry Lee and wife Andy of Edmond, OK, James Allen and wife Sheri of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Ellen Diane and husband Eddie of Daisy, OK; step children, David and Oma, Kevin, Darrell, Keno and Staci, Wendell and Perk, Leslie, Russell and Ginger, Sharon and Monroe; sister, Judy and husband Cliff of Whitehouse, TX; sisters-in-law; Edna Burleson of Daisy, OK, Brenda and husband Larry Porter, Joyce Anderson of Weatherford, TX, Mary and husband Mutt of Poolville, TX, Donna Clay of Daisy, OK; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren ; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Artie Carmen (Gilliland) Thompson; grandparents, Bertie and Cora Gilliland; husbands, Donald Lee James Burleson and Eugene Clay; brother, David Thompson; several sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.
Children for a little while try not to cry for me because I'm once again with your Dad. I'm going to spend a few minutes telling him
how wonderful you children are, and what good care you provided for me when I was sick. Then I will stroll over Heaven with him.
I love you all so very much.
