IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cora Alice
Mackey
July 5, 1935 – June 2, 2024
Cora Alice Mackey, born July 5th, 1935 to Hiram and Gladys Morris, passed from this life on Sunday June 2nd, 2024 at 88 years of age. Alice grew up during tough times and attended the school of hard knocks. On December 17th, 1949 she married the love of her life, Ray Edward Mackey. For the next 56 years they carved out a good life through good times and bad. They raised 6 children in a good home teaching them good values, work ethic and most importantly about God. Ray passed in 2005, but Alice never stopped loving him nor mourning his loss. In her heart and mind they were still married, only apart from one another. Today they are reunited for all eternity in glory because of the faith they both placed in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Alice was a homemaker and committed herself to the calling God had given her as a wife and mother. After raising her children, she worked at WalMart in Atoka for a time before retiring. Alice was an accomplished seamstress and loved to make clothes for her family. She was also known for the blankets she quilted, as well as the afghan's she crocheted. Alice lived the last 8 years in Little City, OK where she made some very special friends whom she loved dearly. Alice dearly loved children, particularly babies, and she doted on them all. Alice was widely known for her cooking, especially for her Mexican food. She loved to cook big meals for her family and have them all around her table. Her greatest legacy is the large family she leaves behind.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Debbie Doraty and husband Darrell of Kemp, OK; Jackie Scott of Wichita Falls, TX; son, Cecil Mackey and wife Tammy of Atoka, OK; as well as a host of grandkids, great grandkids and great great grandkids, along with numerous other friends and relatives. Her time in this world was long, it was productive, and will not soon be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray; two daughters Estelleene Lindsey & Judy Merrill; one son, Tim Mackey; grandson, Christopher Scott and infant granddaughter, Tammy Mackey.
