Dan "Corky" Lane Stubblefield, age 78, a longtime Lane, OK resident for the last 20 years, was reared in Burkburnett, TX, and lived a few years in Mustang, OK, was born on Sunday, June 28, 1942, to J.W. "Bill" and Mary Edith (Jones) Stubblefield, at Vernon, TX. Corky passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Calera, OK. He attended Burkburnett School in Texas and Randlett School in Oklahoma. Corky was a truck driver over 20 years for International Products, Hoffman Pipe and Steel, South Canadian Tank and worked the last 20 years as a ranch hand for the Sheffield brothers. He served in the Oklahoma National Guard in the Combat Engineers. Corky was a member of Lane Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding horses, fishing, hunting, especially coon and deer hunting, and visiting with family and friends.
Corky is survived by his brother, Don Stubblefield and wife Barbara of Tuttle, OK; sister, Pat Davis and husband Tim of Pattonville, TX; very special friends, Doyle, Jack and Larry Sheffield and their families, Jack Allen Walker of Lane, OK, Justin Daniel of Lane, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Corky was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mary Edith Stubblefield; 2 step fathers, Oren Argo, George Taylor; sister, Carolyn Merone.
