Dale "Nub" Truman Stephen, age 72, a lifelong Stringtown, OK area resident, was born on Monday, November 19, 1945, to Ellis and Marbell (McCummins) Stephen, at W. Allison, Atoka, County, OK. Nub passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at his residence in Stringtown, OK. He attended W. Allison School and Tushka High School. Nub was an owner and operater of his own dump truck, retired from Amos Material in Stringtown and later worked for Atoka Co Dist. 1 as equipment operator and drove a dump truck.  He married Shirley Ann Wills on Monday, October 14th, 1963 at Stringtown, OK. They had 51 wonderful years together before her passing on August 22, 2015. His love for Shirley was something to strive for.  Nub was a member of Stringtown Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, raising cattle, antiquing, collecting cast iron skillets etc. He loved to tinker and work on anything.  He was a great dad and papa and would do anything for his family.
Nub is survived by his daughter, Tanya Garside and husband Bob of Stringtown, OK; son, Tim Stephen and wife Jennifer of N. Richland Hills, TX; grandchildren, Megan Burleson and husband Adam of Stringtown, OK, Rob Garside of Stringtown, OK, Olivia Stephen of N. Richland Hills, TX; great grandchildren, Maggie and Mollie Burleson of Stringtown, OK; God children, Stephanie (Holstine) Sherrard and husband Shawn of Stringtown, OK; special cousin, Hazel Setzer of Bentley, OK; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Nub is preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Marbell (McCummins) Stephen; wife, Shirley Ann Stephen; brothers,  Ron, Ferman and Lynn "Cub" Stephen; sister, Debbie Hicks; sisters in law, Carolyn Stephen and Pearl Stephen; nephew, Ronnie Hicks; special brother in law, Don Wills.
