Dan Hardman, age 81, a lifelong Wards Chapel-Standing Rock area resident, was born on Tuesday, January 21, 1941, to Carl Frank and Minnie Lee (Rowton) Hardman, at Standing Rock Community, OK. Dan passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at his home in Atoka, OK. He attended Atoka School. Dan was a lifelong rancher and at an early age worked for the railroad. He married Sheila Ann Whittington on June 7, 1964 at Atoka. Dan later married Marleta Carroll Williams on January 18, 1991 at Wapanucka. They celebrated 30 years of marriage before her passing on November 22, 2021. He was a longtime member of the Church of Christ at Penn & A and Wapanucka, was a deacon at Penn & A, board member for many years of the Soil Conservation, board member of the Wards Chapel Fire Dept, member of the Charolais Cattleman Association. He enjoyed fishing but his main hobby was working and he loved being with his family.
Dan is survived by his children, Kelly Hardman and wife Donna of Atoka, OK, Karl Hardman and wife Michelle of Atoka, OK, Kisa Castleberry and husband Scott of Atoka, OK, Mindy Cochran and husband Clay of Newcastle, OK, Amy Bolin and husband Brandon of Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Tuff Hardman and wife Tori of Atoka, OK, Dylan Castleberry and wife Sheldyn of Achille, OK, Dakota Hardman of Atoka, OK, Trace Hardman of Atoka, OK, Tess Daniel and husband Wyatt of Atoka, OK, Nick Castleberry of Atoka, OK, Larae Bolin of Atoka, OK, Mason Cochran of Newcastle, OK, Milo Cochran of Newcastle, OK, Latosha Safe of Atoka, OK, Tyra Eubank and husband Josh of Mannsville, OK; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Sam Hardman and wife Paula of Atoka, OK, Jim Hardman and wife Lisa of Atoka, OK, Dickie Hardman and wife Bonnie of Atoka, OK; sisters, Nina Robertson of Atoka, OK, Frankie "Sis" Faulkenberry and husband Otis Lee of Atoka, OK; in laws, Raylene Buren and husband Steve of Piedmont, OK, Glen Wade Carroll and wife Connie of Atoka, OK, Malinda Calvert and husband Robert of Atoka, OK; sister in law, Linda Hardman of Atoka, OK; along with nieces nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Frank and Minnie Lee (Rowton) Hardman; wife, Marleta Hardman; brother, Ben Hardman; in laws, Ray and Marlene Carroll.
