David Lee Isbell, age 45, a lifelong Crystal, OK area resident, was born on Saturday, January 3, 1976, to Douglas Eugene and Janis Almedia (Staggs) Isbell, at Antlers, OK. David passed away on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Paris, TX.
He attended Lane Grade School and graduated from Atoka High School in 1994. David worked as a directional driller for Fiber Optics, did paint and body work for Jeff Allen Collision Service, and owned and operated Isbell Small Engine Repair at Crystal, OK. He married Amy Leann (Hill) on Saturday, May 15th, 2004 at Farris, OK. They celebrated 17 years of marriage before his passing. David was a christian and was raised as a Baptist. He was a volunteer fireman and the current Chief of the Crystal Fire Dept. He was the first firefighter in Atoka County to receive the Honorary Firefighter I Certificate from the Oklahoma Firefighter Training Academy. David volunteered at the McLoud Correctional Center as a laundry supervisor for several years. He loved fishing, deer hunting, and tinkering "fixing" small engines. He could fix almost anything and also loved to do work around the place with his tractor and dozer. David enjoyed welding trailers and other things, remote control cars, riding 4-wheelers, and spending time with his family.
David is survived by his wife, Amy Leann Isbell of the home in Crystal, OK; parents, Doug and Janis Isbell of Crystal, OK; in laws, David and Guyla "Sudie" Hill of Farris, OK; aunts, Bonnie Henderson of Crystal, OK, Doris Perry of Balch Springs, TX, Sally Hallows and husband Michael of Center Point, OK; uncles, Raymond "Whitey" Staggs of Boswell, OK, Bobby Staggs and wife Kendra of Spear, OK; along with numerous cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.
David was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Doris Isbell; maternal grandparents, Travis and Ozella Staggs; uncle, Jim Staggs; brother in law, Dusty Hill; cousin, Kriste Jackson; aunts, Jerri Petty, Judi Staggs.
