David Lee James, age 68, a long time Farris, OK resident, was born on Thursday, June 18, 1953, to Frank and Susan Virginia (Wilson) James, at Farris, OK. David passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Durant, OK. He graduated from Atoka High School. David worked for many years in sales and public recourse for construction and a farmer and rancher. He also owned James Spring Arms Company and James Photography. David was a member of the Farris Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, racing motorcycles and spending time outside. He also enjoyed fixing things; he could fix just about anything that was broken. David liked bailing hay, taking photos and working with his cattle. David was very proud of his son, grandsons and his dog Jazzy. David is survived by his son, Matt James and wife Charlie of Atoka, OK; grandsons, Ty James of Atoka, OK, Baker James of Atoka, OK; brothers, Jesse James of Lancaster, CA, Jack James of Oklahoma City, OK, Paul James and wife Lilly of Farris, OK, Bill James of Farris, OK; sisters, Dorothy James of Harrah, OK, Ruth Wayman and husband Donald of Antlers, OK, Carol Bartlett of Farris, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, many dear friends and special friend Cynthia Riley. David was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Susan Virginia (Wilson) James; brother, Frank Richard James; sisters-in-law, Jackie James, Mary James, Wilma James; brother-in-law, Otto Flowers
