David Lee Prince, age 66, a longtime Atoka, OK resident. He was born on Tuesday, March 24, 1959, to Porterfield and Nelda Ruth (South) Prince, at Chickasha, OK. David passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025 at Frisco, TX. He graduated from Durant High School with the class of 1977, then went onto attend SOSU where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Education. David was a teacher/coach in Lawton, Apache and several schools in that area and owned and operated Billy Sims in Durant and Atoka for many years. He married Melanie (Walker) on Wednesday, July 2nd, 1980 at Durant, OK. They celebrated over 44 years of marriage before her passing on January 25, 2025. David enjoyed the bbq place, sitting and talking with customers, was a comedian at heart, a great story teller, would find anything to talk about, was the biggest jokester around but had a heart of gold. When he was younger, he was a dj and bouncer and enjoyed social settings. He was known as "Big Daddy".
David is survived by his son, Michael Walker Prince of the home in Atoka, OK; step brother, Johnny Jones and wife Alice of Kentucky; step sister in law, Donna Jones of Kentucky; father and mother in law, Kenneth and Dovie Walker of Tushka, OK; brother in law, Randy Walker and wife Donalda of Tushka, OK; sister in law, Ranell Walker of Tushka, OK; aunt, Sandra Cole and husband Jerald of Durant, OK; uncle, Johnny South of Cobb, OK; nephew, Jimmy Joefield Prince of Dallas, TX; along with other relatives and many dear friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Porterfield and Nelda Ruth (South) Prince; wife, Melanie Walker-Prince; brother, Jimmy Allen Prince; step dad, C.N. Jones; step brother, Mike (Moke) Jones; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins
