IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David H
Yoder
August 22, 1953 – June 29, 2023
On June 29th, 2023, at the age of 69, our beloved Bro. David Yoder passed from this life and was carried by the angels into the bosom of Abraham. Though he will be missed by family and friends, Bro. David will be remembered for his love for God and for His people.
Bro. Yoder was born August 22nd, 1953, in Dover, Delaware. On July 6th, 1978, he married Miriam Wagler, and lived in matrimony 44 years and 11 months. He was raised in Delaware and worked on the Carpenter's farm. He especially enjoyed driving the bean harvester during harvesting season. David was a superb mechanic and loved working on logging equipment when he lived in New York. After moving to Oklahoma, he worked more on farming equipment. He retired in 2021, but he still enjoyed going to the shop to visit with customers while he tinkered on small projects. In later years he had a discount grocery store. He loved working in the bakery and fame of his bread and fried pies spread far and wide.
Bro. David grew up in the Old Order Amish. In 2016, he took his stand with the Church of God where he found true peace. He will be remembered for his faithfulness and how he often expressed his thankfulness and desire to be a shining light to all he met. He had an outgoing and staunch personality, and is also noted for his strong determination. He loved gardening and reading and took great pride in making his famous grilled chicken for special occasions.
Bro. David is survived by his wife Miriam of the home; children David Enos and wife Loretta (Coalgate OK), Elsie Mae (Mustang OK), Daniel Ray and wife Karen Sue (Olney OK), Melvin Jay and wife Alice (Mustang OK), Elizabeth Ann (Crofton KY), and Levi Reuben (Clarita OK); grandchildren Magdalena Ruth, Lakota Taylor, Katelynn Marie, John David, LoriAnne Rose, Michael Anthony, Benaiah Dewitt, Phyllis Norma, and Markus Levi; brothers Levi and wife Edna (Mondovi WI), Daniel (Dover DE); sister Nancy and husband David Coblentz (Dover DE), and a host of friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry J and Elsie Elizabeth Yoder, son John Henry and daughter-in-law Rachel Ann, sister Mary Edith and sister-in-law Esther.
Though Bro. David will be missed, we are comforted in knowing that he fought a good fight, he kept the faith, and has gone on to receive his glorious eternal reward.
