Obituary

DC Taylor, age 95, of Caney, OK, was born on Tuesday, December 29, 1925 to Perry 'Bub' and Lilly Ellen (Kelly) Taylor, at Boggy Depot, OK. He departed this life on Saturday, December 25, 2021 and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. D.C. was a member and deacon of Mount Carmel Baptist Church and served several years as Sunday School Superintendent. He was also a Gideon member of Atoka Coal County.
DC attended Boggy Depot School and graduated from Tushka Public Schools in 1945. He then proudly served his country in the US Army for two years in Japan as Staff Sergeant during World War II. When he returned home, he married his high school sweet heart, Jacquelyn Delita Faye Meeks to whom he was married for 73 wonderful years until his passing.
DC was truly a great man who loved and inspired so many student, teachers and family. He loved the Lord and lead an exemplary example. He left an amazing legacy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and teaching his children and grandchildren how to hunt and the love of the outdoors.
DC continued his education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University where he earned his Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree. He also received his Administration Degree from the University of Oklahoma. He served 36 years in education as a teacher, coach, principal and superintendent.
DC is survived by his wife, Delita, of Caney, OK; a daughter, Paula Sue (Taylor) Christanelli and her husband James Michael of Vernon, TX; a son, Robert Edward (Bob) Taylor and his wife Sheila of Fairview, TX. He also leaves behind four grandchildren-Gina (Christanelii) Patterson and her husband Chad of Denton, TX, Gregory Taylor and his wife Sarah of Gunter, TX, Christopher Christanelli of Vernon, TX, and Jill (Taylor) Wood and husband Matt of McKinney, TX-13 great-grandchildren-Cooper Gentry, Creed Gentry, Cortt Gentry, Copelyn Patterson, Conleigh Patterson, Call Patterson, Kaylin Taylor, Colton Moore (Taylor), Kolbi Taylor, Tabor Christanelli, Carter Christanelli, Taylor Wood, Hudson Wood-one great-great-grandchild-Valor Barahona, his brother Richard Taylor and sister Vera Marbles.
DC was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Mary, Mae and Mildred; his brothers, Thurman and J.B., and his precious great-granddaughter, Braylyn.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Mt. Carmel, Lois and Ronny for their help during the last few years as well as Victory Home Health, Debbie, Tonya, Lona, Robin and Angie for their loving and attentive care.
