Delbert Ross Fortenberry, age 69, a lifelong Atoka, OK resident, was born on Sunday, September 23, 1951, to Thomas Lloyd and Lillian Leona (Hanson) Fortenberry, at Atoka, OK. Delbert passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Denison, TX. He graduated from Atoka High School in 1972. Delbert unloaded trucks for Kraft Foods in Dallas, TX. He was raised in the Nazarene church. Delbert loved watching football, basketball, was an avid OU fan, old western movies, and listening to old country music.
Delbert is survived by his siblings, Dale Fortenberry of Burlingame, KS, Bobby Fortenberry and wife Fay of Grand Terrance, CA, Marlene Gabriel of Atoka, OK, Curtis Fortenberry of Choctaw, OK, Vernon "Bull Dog" Fortenberry of Atoka, OK, Pat Rector of Lane, OK; sisters in law, Minnie Fortenberry of Eufaula, OK, Reda Fortenberry of Oklahoma City, OK; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Leona Fortenberry; siblings, Thomas, Alva, Victor, Kenneth Fortenberry, Winnie Donihoo; in laws, Josh Gabriel, Sue Fortenberry, Mary Fortenberry, J.C. Donihoo, Steve Rector.
